And He said to them, “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature. Mark 16:15

Did God send you to save the world?  Me either.   So what are you and I suppose to do?

Jesus “commissioned” us to preach the “good news” to every creature.  Some have taken this to mean, talk to everyone, everywhere, anytime.  People have been “witnessed to” whether they want to listen or not.

Christians seem pushy and self righteous trying to “help” people find Jesus.  What did Jesus mean?  Far be it from me to speak for God or tell you the proper translation of our title verse but I must weigh in.

Jesus commissioned us to share the Gospel but instead of trying to figure out what He means with His words, why not look at what He did?

Jesus walked day by day, healing the sick, cleansing the lepers and making blind eyes see. (Oh yeah, He raised the dead too!)  If we as believers would imitate Christ the world would beg to learn more.

Have you ever been invited to a network marketing meeting?  The person inviting you has been trained to tell you just enough to get your curiosity up.  Don’t mention the name of the company…get them to the meeting.  Don’t try to explain it…get them to the meeting.

Sounds a little like trying to get people to church.  Some believers don’t know enough about Jesus to tell others about Him, so they invite them to church.  They are “afraid” they might mess it up so instead of saying the “wrong” thing…they say nothing.  What is the answer?

In my humble opinion, the church needs to work on its personal relationship with Jesus before they brow beat others about their lifestyle, choices or sin.

Jesus lead by example. The church must also lead.  But here are the facts, the divorce rate, bankruptcy and sickness in the church is very similar to that outside of the church.  Why would anyone “looking in” choose to join the church?

The only reason, as you know, is Jesus.  He is the real and only true God.  Through faith in His name, blind eyes are opened, deaf ears hear again and the dead become alive.  Easy right?  Should be, but in all honesty, most of us are still on the sidelines wondering how to get in the game.

Here is what we believe is our first step, believe the word of God. Notice I did not say believe what I think or any one else thinks…no, I said, get to know the word of God.

Here is the part that will mess with your head, Jesus is the word of God.  The closer you get to Jesus, the closer you get to the Truth (which is also Jesus)

Until next time, remember: You overcome Satan by the blood of the Lamb and the word of your testimony, and by becoming a living sacrifice. Revelation 12:11

Is Salvation really for everyone?

The quick and easy answer is yes. Jesus died on the cross for the sins of the whole world this includes past, present and future sins of everyone, everywhere. (1 John 2:2 And He Himself is the propitiation for our sins, and not ours only but also for the whole world.)

The real problem for salvation is not sin. The price for sin has been paid, in full, by Jesus Christ. The real and most telling question God will ask you, (He may ask more questions but I am confident this one will be asked, probably first.) “What have you done with My Son, Jesus?” The answer to this question will determine where you spend eternity.

So how do you “get in” to Heaven? It is only through Jesus. In John 14:6 Jesus very clearly states, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me. Pretty simple, the path to getting the right answer to God’s question is through Jesus.

The Good News is everyone is eligible for salvation. The not so good news is many will reject Jesus. There are many reasons given for not following Christ but it all boils down to “pride”.
God resists the proud but gives grace to the humble.(1 Peter 5:5, James 4:6) That is the key, a church word called repentance is what must happen before there can be true salvation.

Through repentance you admit you were wrong, you admit God was right and ask God to forgive you. It is also a turning away from the past attitude of you being in control and admitting or declaring that God is now in control of your life.

God reached out to me many times but I was too arrogant and stubborn to listen. It was not until I realized I was going nowhere and needed some direction for my life that I was open to God. I was invited to hear the Word of God at a business meeting that had an “optional” Sunday morning service. The Word was preached and the Word came to life in me. It is to true what is said in Romans 10:17 that faith comes from hearing and hearing by the word of God.

Then I took that faith that came from hearing and I combined it with the Grace of God and I was saved. Using Ephesians 2:8 You are saved by grace through faith and that not of yourselves; it is a gift of God. My salvation came when I confessed with my mouth the Lord Jesus and believed in my heart that God raised Christ from the dead, I was saved. (Romans 10:9)

It has been a wonderful journey that started over 15 years ago and grows stronger each day. No where in the Bible do I read my new life in Christ will be without trials but I do read daily how God will supply the strength, courage and power to overcome anything that comes my way.

God saved me by His word, explained/preached through faithful men and women of God. The word of God must be proclaimed for faith to come and salvation to take place. So we at One Drop of Blood have developed a product to open the door of conversation so that word of God can be proclaimed.
