“God resists the proud, but gives grace to the humble.” James 4:6
Have you ever had one of those days? I got up early, went to a men’s prayer meeting and was enjoying a great time visiting and then looked down.
If you notice from the above picture, these shoes had shoe strings, which means someone had to tie them. Wow, when I looked down during the meeting a rush of emotions came over me. The first was embarrassment, next came shame, then I became self-centered. This all happened in a blink of an eye and I remember my mind drifting to what the other men were thinking or what they would think, when they all discovered what an idiot looked like.
The Holy Spirit stepped back into the mix and reminded me this meeting wasn’t about me, the men were here to worship and praise Jesus. What a revelation, while my whole mental world was starting to spin out of control, the simple mention of Jesus’ name brought everything back into perspective.
There are many lessons I learned this morning…but number one; It is all about Jesus! Take your eyes off of yourself today and look to Jesus. He really can bring peace to your storms.
How many times a day do you think it is all about you? When that thought hits me today I will remember the lesson I learned a long time ago and was reminded of this morning in living color…Jesus took care of all of this over 2000 years ago. Thank you again Jesus, for all You have done for us.
