  • Praying for Tiger Woods

So when they continued asking Him. He raised Himself  up and said to them, “He who is without sin among you cast the first stone. John 8:7

I have a confession to make, “I have no idea how many women have said, they “know” Tiger.”  Instead I have prayed for the man and his family.  I know what a “pig” Satan is and he comes only to steal, kill and destroy. (John 10:10)

The world seems caught up in Tiger’s sin, many in the church can tell you names and numbers…not me, I don’t care how much sin the man has, I am concerned with the man and his family.

I will probably never meet Tiger Woods but I know what Jesus would say, “I paid for all of that.”  Regardless of how many “sins”, 1 John 2:2 says, And He Himself is the propitiation for our sins, and not ours only but also for (Tiger Woods) the whole world.

John was writing to believers but he included ever sin, past, present and future for every person, everywhere in the world.  I pray that Tiger finds the forgiveness I found in Jesus Christ. Except by the grace of God,  there go I.

You have probably heard, Christians are not perfect, just forgiven.  This is so true.  Ann Coulter wrote an excellent article describing this very truth, you can find it here

So what does all this mean?  There was only one perfect man to walk this Earth and it is not Tiger. (Or you for that matter) I realize it is much more “exciting” to talk about all the sin, but I want to encourage you to pray for Tiger Woods, his children and his wife.

Until next time, remember: You overcome Satan by the blood of the Lamb and the word of your testimony, and by becoming a living sacrifice. Revelation 12:11
