Ray Boltz and the Good News
Since Ray Boltz has come out-of-the-closet and is now openly homosexual, his life is now supposed to be easy and less complicated. I hope he is not counting on a peace that surpasses all understanding to come over him. He may feel a sense of relief because he does not have to “lie” about what he is doing, but his announcement will not bring peace.
Enough of that, I think this is an excellent time to write about what I believe the Bible teaches on Salvation. I will use Ray Boltz in my example (since he raised his hand). Some of you may be wondering will Ray spend eternity in Hell? Surely homosexuality or homosexuals will never enter Heaven.
As I read the Bible, no where do I see where it classifies big sins and little sins. Sin as a definition is missing the mark. In archery, you have sinned if you miss the bull’s-eye. Since I do not own an archery store, that definition does not apply. But since the word sin is in the Bible I thought it was relevant to the discussion. Biblical sin is missing the mark with your life. What does God expect from your life? The answer is one word, perfection. God’s Word or the law requires everyone to be perfect. With this in mind, Romans 3:23 is easier to understand. For all have sinned and fall short of the Glory of God.
The Bible is also clear that the wages of sin (what you earn from sinning) is death. So by sinning you will die…nice. Let take this a little deeper, the death the Bible refers to is eternal death and separation from God, eternal means forever. If you do not live a perfect, sinless life God’s law condemns you to eternal death.
What does that have to do with Ray Boltz? Homosexuality is not the issue, sin is the issue and all have sinned. How can sinful man ever hope to get to Heaven? By himself he is doomed to spend eternity in Hell but while we were yet sinners Christ died for us.
The law requires perfection. Jesus never sinned, which in itself is amazing but instead of jumping for joy and yelling, “I did it, I did it.” Jesus took His perfect life and laid it down for sinful man. What a Savior.
Here is the only way to Heaven, Jesus. (John 14:6) Jesus said, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one gets to the Father except through Me.” So back to my beginning question, “Will Ray Boltz spend eternity in Hell?” The answer must be… it depends. Did he accept Jesus as his Lord and Savior? That is the only question that matters. In fact, when you die and stand before God I believe you will get one question. It will be something similar to this, “What did you do with My Son, Jesus?” If you have confessed Jesus as your Lord with your mouth and believe in your heart that God raised Christ from the dead, you shall be saved.
This one question will determine which line you then stand in, The Judgment Seat of Christ, or the Great White Throne Judgment. (Just a hint, you want to be in the Judgment Seat of Christ line.) All your other “deeds” will be exposed after your final Judgment is determined. This is where, if you are a Christian and practice homosexuality, lying, stealing etc. any sin, you will answer for it.
So one more time, the Good News, Salvation, Eternal Life, is available for everyone who confesses with their month the Lord Jesus and believes in their heart that God raised Christ from the dead. Everyone who does that shall be saved. If Ray Boltz confessed Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior the Bible says he is born again and a new creature.
I am not trying to make light of a very serious sin but this sin or any sin for that matter will not send you to Hell. Denying Jesus Christ, God’s only Son is the only sure fire (sorry about that) ticket to Hell.

Amen, Hate the sin , but still love the sinner.
If he s a brother in Christ lets continue to celebrate our so Great Salvation with him.
If he is not lets continue to show Christian love
and grace so that we might show him the way to our Lord and Savior.
while I agree with this article it does not give the entire truth…Ray’s soul is still in jeopardy as long as he chooses to continue his Homosexual lifestyle. God loves the sinner but hates the sin!!!
One factor left out in this article is REPENT!! …the act of turning from your sin and returning to living our life for Jesus. This does not imply that Ray need to start singing again as a Gay worshiper…but to renounce his sin(confess), turn away from his sin(repent), and return to following Jesus.
In Matt 4:17 just before Jesus started calling his disciples it states that he began to preach and say “Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.
His disciples then knew they must repent why do they not know that now?!???!!!
Without going head long into a sermon I believe Ray’s (or anyone’s for that matter) spirit is completely saved. The good news is if he has confessed that Jesus is Lord with his mouth and believes with his heart that God raised Christ from the dead he is saved. Repentance has happened once already if he is truly saved.
That means he (his spirit) is a new creation. His soul and body are a totally different story. I do not exactly know how it will all shake out but his soul and body are still fair game for Satan.
I believe when anyone is “saved” and born again they are that way for eternity. The only way they lose their salvation is if they are a mature Christian that has tasted the goodness and power of God and by faith and on purpose renounce their place in His kingdom.
I think this is where Ray must be careful because Satan is very good at deception and if he can convince Ray to give up his salvation he will be in big eternal trouble.
The only way Ray (or anyone caught in sin) gets out of the hold the devil has on him is repentance and I pray he will repent and turn his back on the lie he is living.
When you walk in a manner contrary to holiness, that’s SIN. Admin, I think you need to ask the Holy Ghost for a clear revelation of salvation. And then you need to read the Bible for yourself and stop taking someone else’s word fot it!
My revelation of Salvation comes directly from the Bible. It is called the Good News and is available for all.
Jesus died once for all. Read 1 John 2:2 ; And He Himself is the propitiation for our sins, not for ours only but also for the whole world.
Now read Hebrews 10:12 But this Man, after He had offered one sacrifice for sins forever, sat down at the right hand of God.
I believe this clearly states that Jesus died once for all sin, yours, mine and even Ray’s.
It is my belief (grounded in scripture) that salvation should be presented as “Great News” for sinners. The law should be used to show how incredible sinful we all are and once the law has broken a man to repentance and his undeniable need for salvation, the law has done its job.
Once a sinner has accepted Christ, he is a new creation and is to live by faith. To place a born again believer back under the law is not very good news.
As a mature Christians we are to help believers become mature Christians. (Read discipleship) This is one of the tenants in the Great Commission.
If you think I am “soft” on sin because I am not condemning believers to hell because of their sin I would challenge you to quit listening to man and read your Bible. (Sorry about being so blunt, but you started it.)
My take on sin is, I am totally against it. Sin is horrible and destroys lives. It is something that should be dealt with every chance you get. But that is a totally different topic and one I will address in the future.
This remind me of someone else ( King David ) only God sent Nathan in to confront David. (Howbeit, because by this deed thou hast given great occasion to the enemies of the LORD to blaspheme. II Samuel 12:14a) If Ray belong to Christ, Only God know for sure!!! will not let him go. Ray will not know true piece in his spirit until he returns and repents. My heart goes out to him and hes family! We the Church should reach out to him with tough love, not looking away from his sin, but trying to restore him.
Lord Help Ray fell your love and grace and forgiveness that only your blood can provide!! Amem
